Redhall Riding Club Minutes June 2008
Present for June 2008: Hall, Judi, Martina, Laura, Tanya, Doria, Wendy, Jenny C.
Absent: Ann, Gary, Amanda, Libby ,Sandra, Janet, Billy and Jenny H.
Previous minutes were proposed and seconded by Tanya and Judi respectively.
Liasion. Laura pointed out that the next Liasion meeting would be on the 12th June.
Dressage. Tanya congratulated Ann for the fantastic job that she had done on the dressage league. Doria apologized if Ann had thought that the sponsors should have come to this meeting but that that was not what she had intended.
Martina asked if the sponsors were to come to the dressage practice night, she would check this with Ann. Martina pointed out that the dressage championships were this Saturday and that there were 2 teams and individuals going.
Field visit: Jenny C to organize the visit to the field so that the committee could view it before Carrick.
SJ Championships. Laura pointed out that these were on the 22nd June this year, she pointed out that they need 3 helpers and would anyone volunteer?
Laura informed the committee that the height for the junior novice was 95cm it was agreed that this was really too high.
Samantha Steele had phoned Hall about putting her name down for the Championships and Hall told the committee that he had informed her of the issue surrounding her previous behaviour. It was felt that the appropriate course of action was to send her a letter explaining the whole thing.
Carrick show: Laura E pointed out that people need a rough time for when the SJ qualifier will take place, it was felt that this would be around 4pm.
Martina pointed out that the SOTN woman had been speaking to her and that she didn’t mind what order we ran the classes in. Doria presented a schedule to the committee and pointed out that we might need some more sponsors. It was decided that the collecting of the money should be divvied up between the committee members and that Martina would go and buy the prizes from Horsewear.
Jenny C would email round the club members to ask for help for the show. It was decided that the splitting up of the jobs for the show would be left for another occasion as so many of the committee were absent. A very long discussion followed on how to run the show, nothing was concluded except to discuss it again on the night that we go to view the field. The meeting was terminated with no date for a further meeting.
